Frequently asked questions
How is Woodoc different to a furniture oil?
Furniture oils, like Danish oil, also penetrate the wood and are easy to maintain. But where furniture oils remain soft, Woodoc's multi-coat, polywax system builds a durable protective surface, which offers better protection against heat marks, water and scratches.
How do the interior & exterior products differ?
Interior sealers are designed to protect against heat marks, water and alcohol spills, and scratches. Exterior sealers use the same underlying polywax technology, but have added UV protection and enhanced water repellence, to protect the wood from outdoor weather and sun exposure.
Typically, outdoor sealers need to be refreshed annually (depending on exposure). But because Woodoc sealers biodegrade, all it takes is a quick clean before resealing.
What does the maintenance wax do?
Maintenance wax penetrates through the existing seal to clean, nourish and refresh the wood beneath, keeping it looking its best. The exterior maintenance wax also adds UV protection, helping to extend the life of the exterior Woodoc sealer.
Note: Maintenance wax is not a substitute for a sealer. Used alone, it won't protect bare or unsealed wood the way a sealer does.
